Perspectives in Psychiatry: A Learner’s Viewpoint

The start of each academic year is an exciting time for medical students and resident physicians, as they continue to hone their clinical and research skills. The new year is also a time to strengthen one’s commitment to lifelong learning, a growth mindset, and academic contributions.

We invite medical students and resident physicians in the department of psychiatry at the University of Toledo to work in teams (at least 1 resident and 1 medical student; no more than 4 authors total) to submit short review-style manuscripts (no more than 800 words with no more than 10 references) to Translation for publication in a special issue named “Perspectives in Psychiatry: A Learner’s Viewpoint.” In order to participate, each team of authors must first submit a proposal topic (1-2 sentences), a proposed title, and proposed authorship.

Proposal submissions for the mini review paper should focus on a precise clinical psychiatry topic related to general practice or a sub-specialty (such as addiction and recovery, child and adolescent, community, women’s health, geriatrics, sleep medicine, etc).
Ideally, the manuscript would be focused on a specific concept, problem, or idea that might be of broad interest to learners in the field of psychiatry.
