GRAF Submissons

Submission Deadline:

  • Submission deadline is January 15, 2026. Notification will be sent by February 27, 2026

Submission Requirements:

1. Each submission must include an author who is a graduate student in the College of Medicine and Life Sciences. Any submission not meeting this requirement will be sent back to the corresponding author for corrections.

2. Please upload a structured abstract of 300 words in a Word document. (The 300-word limit excludes the title, keywords, and affiliations.)

3. Please specify submission type: Poster, Oral Presentation

4. Please note – at least one author from each submission must be able to attend the in-person event on March 19-20, 2026.

5. If you do not wish to have your abstract published in the Translation GRAF Symposium issue, please state "do not include in the GRAF Issue" in the Comments to the Editor box.

Submission information:

1. Step 1: Create an account for Translation: https://openjournals.utoledo.edu/index.php/symposium/login

2. Step 2: Select New Submission (upper right-hand corner)

a. Select GRAF (Graduate Annual Research Forum) from the drop-down menu, check all the boxes, then click Save and Next

3. Step 3: Upload your abstract in a one-page Word document, and it should be structured as a Research, Review, or Case Report/Study as outlined below:

a. 12-point Arial font, Double Spaced, 2 pages (maximum)

b. For each author, please include the following information:

i. Role(s): Student, Resident, Fellow

ii. Department or Division: Medical Microbiology and Immunology, Molecular Medicine, Cell and Cancer Biology, Neuroscience, Bioinformatics, Pharmaceutical Sciences

c. Required Sections based on type of submission

i. Research Abstract:

1. Background or Introduction

2. Objectives

3. Methods

4. Results

5. Conclusion (if applicable)

4. Step 3: Add any keywords for your submission (maximum 6).

5. Step 4: Submit!

All submissions will be considered for awards based upon their innovation, methodological rigor, and contributions to science and patient care.
